Problem:
A pipeline client needed to boost throughput to unlock higher flow rates and capture a significant revenue increase. Their existing pump, motor, and baseplate combination limited flow to 525 GPM – well below their 700 GPM target.
Solution:
PRS reverse-engineered the existing rotor and fabricated larger impellers to meet the higher flow requirement. To handle the added load, we installed a higher-horsepower motor and designed a new baseplate. After PRS installation and commissioning, the upgraded system delivered a 33% increase in flow, unlocking the pipeline’s full capacity.
Outcome:
The modified pump successfully achieved the target 700 GPM flow rate while operating near the optimal Best Efficiency Point (BEP), ensuring reliable and efficient performance.
